The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals is at stake. Implementation of the 2030 Agenda has reached its midpoint, but we are alarmed that progress on most of the goals is either too slow or has slipped below the 2015 baseline. Our world is facing many crises. Years of sustainable development gains are being reversed. Millions of people are falling into poverty, hunger and malnutrition are more widespread, humanitarian needs are increasing, and the effects of climate change are more pronounced. This has led to a rise in inequality, compounded by a weakening of international solidarity and a lack of trust in overcoming these crises together.

We commit ourselves to bold, ambitious, accelerated, just and transformative action based on international solidarity and effective cooperation at all levels. We will promote systemic transformation to build a more inclusive, just, peaceful, resilient and sustainable world for people and the planet, and for present and future generations.

In a spirit of global solidarity, we will work together to achieve sustainable development for the common future of present and future generations, including through international cooperation and partnership based on mutual trust and for the full benefit of all.We reaffirm the principles of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, in particular the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities set out in principle 7 of the Rio Declaration.

We commit to strengthen global, regional, national and local partnerships for sustainable development, involving all relevant stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector, academia and youth, recognizing the important contribution they can make to the localization of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. We also reaffirm the importance of the regional dimension of sustainable development in addressing regional challenges and scaling up action among countries.

In the "Call to Action - Moving the World towards 2030" section, zero waste, renewable energy, plastic pollution, integrated planning for sustainable development, trade liberalization and more are in focus (excerpt) Excerpt)

We are committed to taking sustained, fundamental and transformative urgent action at all levels and with all stakeholders to overcome the crises and obstacles facing the world. We recognize the urgent need to take the necessary actions to reverse the downward trend and accelerate progress towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

We reaffirm our commitment to fundamentally transform our consumption and production patterns, including through the transition to sustainable economic and business models, the implementation of the 10-year programme framework for sustainable consumption and production patterns, and support to developing countries in strengthening their science, technology and innovation capacities. We recognize that local and national zero-waste initiatives contribute to sustainable consumption and production.Environmentally friendly products such as biodegradable lunch boxes, bagasse products, and biodegradable paper cups will lead to sustainable development and build a society that integrates with nature.

We will ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and sustainable modern energy for all, including through enhanced international cooperation to help developing countries, sustained investment in research and development, and investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technologies. By 2030, we will significantly increase the share of renewables in the global energy mix.
